We are so ready to welcome the girls back and start up the sweet discipleship ministries of KDs!  We’ll start up again    September 9.  A little more information on the program:  The Kings Daughters Ministry is a discipleship  program for girls falling into two age categories.  6 - 10 yr. & 11 - 16 yr.  We meet twice a month. In September we’ll be meeting the   second and fourth Tuesday, but October through May we’ll return to our regular schedule: the first and third Tuesdays of each month.  Costs are $25/ month and will include the 2 club meetings if paid by that first Tuesday,  or $15/meeting for pay as you go.  Our plans this fall include hands-on Bible Studies, the younger girls studying the Patriarchs and the older, Acts.  The Patriarchs Study will take the girls on a dusty journey in Abraham, Isaac & Jacob’s sandals.  Deborah will be leading the study with activities, crafts and games along with the Scripture stories. In learning about Acts, our older group of girls will be studying the handful of Jesus’ followers that grew and turned the world upside-down and thus discover what it takes to be one of God’s people who cannot be stopped!  Also our regular activities will include handcrafts, creative skills projects and homemaking  projects as well as active and creative games.  The groups also will again take turns in the kitchen, preparing our noon meal.  Hey… if the girls have a favorite meal at home… have them bring a copy of the recipes to KDs so they can have the opportunity to share it with the group!

 

This year, I want to be sure every girl.. (and every mother who wants one) gets a copy of the King’s Daughter booklet.  December 20 & May 23 are our Kings Daughters Honor Courts.  Elisabeth and I would love to award you… and your girls with the achievements you have worked towards at that time.  Moms - you can even work through the booklets at home with your daughters and be awarded together!  What a special occasion that would be!  This will also be the time when the girls will demonstrate to you the verses, songs and various things they have learned during our meetings.  Even if you don’t have daughters that attend the club meetings, or if you don’t have daughters at all… come out and join us anyhow!  Please put these dates on your calendar now so you will be sure not to miss them!  More information to come as the time approaches.
