Camp Winchester is in the workings of a full-fledged horse program!  With six workable horses and two fun-loving ponies, we've begun, as of February, 2006... teaching group, WESTERN-STYLE RIDING LESSONS. These lessons include horse care, horse safety and western riding skills.

Our horses are well-trained and kid-friendly and Elisabeth Seale is a knowledgeable instructor with 12 years of experience around horses and a love, both for them and for teaching.  Camp has a full-sized arena for practicing and working in, plus 20 acres used for trail riding.

Costs are $25 an hour per person for group lessons, max. 4 per lesson at present; OR  $35 an hour for private lessons.  Ages 6 to ?

We are also available to your family or group for PONY RIDES AND PONY PARTIES. 

Pony Parties include horse safety & pony rides for your children for 1 hr.  We will also provide you with a meeting room for cake and presents, or a picnic area in the shade and our kitchen is open to you for your use.  Costs are $100/Pony Party.   For an extra $25 we will also provide you with a pony-themed birthday cake and punch.

Pony Rides are $8/child for 15 minutes of riding time.  For groups of 10 or more our prices are $6/child.

Or bring your small group out for an instructional TRAIL RIDE.  These include 15 minutes of instruction and arena practice, prefacing a 30 minute ride on the trails.  Costs are $20/person

Recently, here at Camp Winchester, we have also programmed HORSE CLINICS for small groups of 6 - 12.  These can last anywhere from 2 - 4 hours depending on your needs; and can include horse care and safety instruction, basic riding instruction, & a riding demonstration.  Contact Elisabeth Seale through FACE Ministries for more information on this, or any other horse related needs.
